The Goon Line 006: Julie Houts

TODAY YOU’RE GETTING THE AFTERNOON EDITION. I went to a wine tasting with friends yesterday that, in a completely unsurprising twist, turned into… tasting even more wine. So instead of diligently chipping away at this week’s posts, I had a Sunday Funday, and, well, here we are.

Said “here” is a perfect state of mind to share this internet with you today. Julie Houts is a screamingly funny and talented artist whom I first encountered on Instagram. Her work frequently depicts women who are complicated, hilarious, anxious, harried, bold, disorganized, confident and deeply, deeply relatable.

These days Houts posts less frequently than she once did, but waking up having thrown all of my self-imposed responsibilities in the garbage yesterday really did make me feel like one of her illustrations. Wine mouth included.
