The Goon Line 021: Every Dr. Armond Ever

It’s peak basketball time, and this year the house’s team has, to mix my sports metaphors because I really don’t know what I’m talking about, been called up to the bigs.

Even I, indoor kid extraordinaire, can always get a little bit excited about having someone to root for in this particular tournament. And it’s also a wonderful opportunity to do Dr. Armond’s Basketball Pantomime 45 times a day.

Kroll Show went off the air in 2013, but I will still watch any episode of it at any time, without hesitation. It contains so many absolutely perfect bits and sketches, and also skewers another great love of mine, Bravo-adjacent reality television programming, better than anything I’ve seen since. I still drink out of a PubLIZity cup. I will never not have a spot in my heart for the Pawnsylvania sketches. But the Dr. Armondiverse is probably my favorite world borne of this show.

I have mentioned before that I need to “work” to some version of white noise, but I should also say that sometimes that noise is from TV episodes or movies I have seen so many times that they melt into the background. This video, a 45-minute-long compilation of every Dr. Armond sketch, makes that list. It takes us through a surprising narrative over the course of several seasons, but even if you tune out you’ll still catch a stray hilarious goof or two that will make chocolate milk come out of your nose.

So if you tire of NCAA providing the soundtrack to your next two weeks, maybe give this one a spin. You’ll have the time of your life.
