The Goon Line 045: Cue Cards by Wally

I’ve probably already told you here or in real life that I am a Saturday Night Live apologist/completist, and have only missed a handful of episodes over the years when they’ve featured a particularly odious host, which they have of course managed to do. But even amid all of the absolutely everlasting, death-and-taxes-level-reliable criticism that SNL isn’t funny anymore, I tune in live almost every week. And then let them all pile up on the DVR for years.

Wally Feresten has been doing the cue cards for SNL since 1990. In 2020 he started Cue Cards by Wally, a side hustle borne of the pandemic through which he sold cue cards (although nothing with any SNL language on it, since that’s all copyrighted to death). But it’s like a way more wholesome version of Cameo! Perfect for all of the SNL lovers in your life (me)! (Seriously between this and yesterday’s Tesh Vest I’m really giving you all a lot of great ideas.)

As someone who loves this show and who has terrible penmanship, I just love everything about this whole thing. And now you can, too.
