It is time to take the bull by the bolo tie and snap myself out of yesterday’s funk. And whatever three cups of coffee and some very loud music cannot handle, we will deal with another day.

And what an occasion for very loud music it is. I was perusing Kottke.org for some link-sharing inspiration and saw that he was clearly thinking about giving me the exact content I needed today, both for The Goon Line and my life.

There is a lost mixtape from The Hood Internet, and, I’ll say it1 : It fucks.

I used to be pretty good at listening to cool music, and both these guys and Girl Talk had my headphone hours pretty tied up for a very large chunk of the mid-aughts. It was (and is!) great music for a commute, surprisingly easy to zone out and work alongside, and absolutely phenomenal as a housecleaning soundtrack.

Maybe it’s that aforementioned third coffee talking, but THIS MIXTAPE IS MAKING ME FEEL LIKE I CAN FLY TODAY. I HOPE IT DOES THE SAME FOR YOU.
